Iceland – Cesspool or septic tank emptying services – Septic tank emptying services in Rangárþing Ytra and Rangárþing Eystra (2026–2029)

Description

The contracting authorities Rangárþing Ytra and Rangárþing Eystra invite tenders for the provision of septic tank emptying services within the municipalities. At the start of the contract there are approximately 1,930 registered septic tanks. It is anticipated that approximately one third of the septic tanks will be emptied each year. The majority of septic tanks are smaller than 4 cubic metres. All material removed from the septic tanks shall be dewatered and the liquid from the dewatering process shall be returned to the septic tank. The dewatered sludge shall be delivered to a sludge reception facility designated by the contracting authority. The emptying operations are organised into three geographical zones so that all septic tanks will be emptied within the three-year contract period. The emptying period each year runs from 1 May to 30 September. The contract is expected to commence on 1 May 2026. The contractor shall also be available to provide additional emptying services during the contract period if required. The contractor must record information for each emptying operation and submit reports to the contracting authority through the system www.map.is/seyra .
