Description

The City Management Cluster, Clean City Department, of the City of Rotterdam, Contracting Authority, has a tender for digital (litter) screening. In 2022, the Contracting Authority conducted a Proof of Concept (PoC) in which photos of the outdoor space were taken in cooperation with a contractor. These photos were then sent to the Contracting Authority's servers. The Contracting Authority had developed an algorithm that could recognise litter in the outdoor space from the photos. This showed through a dashboard how littered an area was. The aim is now to also be able to detect coarse litter in outdoor areas. The Contracting Authority's wish is to eventually detect e.g. dog dirt, weeds, fine litter, etc. For
