Description

The purpose of the UK Electrification Skills Framework (UKESF) is to establish a coordinated, evidence-based mechanism for identifying, analysing and communicating current and future skills requirements across the UK's electrification sectors. The framework will support the Battery Innovation Programme's (BIP) objective of strengthening workforce capability by improving alignment between industry demand, skills provision, policy development and investment decisions. UKESF will act as a national convening and intelligence function, bringing together stakeholders from industry, academia, training providers, professional bodies and government. Through structured engagement, data gathering and analysis, the framework will provide the evidence required to support workforce planning, investment decisions and the development of a sustainable electrification skills ecosystem across the UK. To deliver these outcomes, UKRI intends to appoint a single organisation or consortium to establish, administer and manage the UK Electrification Skills Framework, including its governance arrangements, stakeholder engagement activities, evidence-gathering processes, analytical capability and reporting functions.
