Description
This agreement deals primarily with carrying out measurements and inspections to determine the condition of the rail and detect (incipient) defects. The measurements are carried out both with a measuring vehicle and by hand measurement. The presence of an (undetected) rail defect can lead to dangerous situations and even incidents such as derailments. Data and information on rails is therefore necessary to ensure the safe operability of the railways in the Netherlands.
