Description
Monitoring salmon in the Tanavassdraget has been an important piece for examining the status of salmon stocks in this large watercourse we share with Finland. The counting of salmon in Tana main river has been carried out in Finnish every year at Polmak since 2018. Counting salmon in Ká rá š johka has been the most important piece in monitoring on the Norwegian side. A tender contest was held prior to 2021 for counting salmon with sonar in Ká rá š johka, supplemented with counting of a side watercourse in addition. The monitoring was for two years, with an option for further monitoring for three additional years. The monitoring contract shall now be renewed. The duration of the procurement will be two years, with an option for a continuation for three single years. The contracting authority must take into account that the counting of salmon shall occur in Ká rá š johka each year in addition to one or two additional locations that are chosen at relatively short notice from year to year.
