GB-Colchester: 0486-PA - Felt Flat Roof Replacement on Two Storey Blocks - (Contract J)

Description

Colchester Borough Homes (the Authority) on behalf of Colchester City Council (the Council) wishes to commission a contractor to undertake the following: The works briefly comprise the re-covering of felt flat roof coverings to two storey flat blocks at various locations within the Colchester District. The works will require stripping up and replacement of roof decks to some locations and overlaying to others. To all locations the installation of a designed, tapered insulation system will be required. Where roof deck replacement is required, full temporary roof protection (tin hat) will be required. The blocks have existing photovoltaic panels installed, these are to be removed and reinstated by the Contractor or by specialist named subcontractors whose works are to be managed by the principal contractor. This description is non exhaustive and a summary only; full details are contained within the accompanying documents. The form of contract to be used for this tender exercise is the JCT Intermediate Building Contract 2016 Edition (IC2016). Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The contract period provided is a guide, although the works shall take no longer than 22 weeks. Provisional dates stated as w/c 28th September 2026 to w/e 12 March 2027 (allowing a 2-week break for the Festive Period).
